CPDC

Chemical Product Design Competition has been a branch of competition under the name of Process and Green Engineering Days UI for the past 16 years. It provides a platform for students from various majors to develop innovative, practical, and economically viable chemical-based products that address real consumer needs. Emphasizing sustainability and interdisciplinary collaboration, CPDC encourages participants to explore how chemical processes can create impactful, eco-friendly solutions. Each year, the competition attracts over 100 abstract submissions from more than 50 national and international universities, offering students valuable experience in product design, research, and entrepreneurship. Through this process, CPDC continues to inspire future innovators and problem-solvers, preparing them to make meaningful contributions to both industry and society.

Subtheme

Personal Care

In an era where environmental changes remain a constant concern, individuals are increasingly aware of how they can contribute to the planet. This shift has influenced consumer behavior, particularly in how they select and purchase personal care products. Personal care products are a range of household chemicals designed for health, beauty, and cleaning purposes, such as cosmetics, skincare, hygiene products, etc. The health and beauty industry is experiencing rapid growth, positioning it as one of the sectors with immense potential. As we move towards an era of sustainability, it is crucial to also consider the environmental impact of personal care products. Key factors such as raw materials, manufacturing processes, and distribution significantly contribute to their ecological footprint. With this in mind, we challenge you to create a product that not only enhances health and beauty, but also prioritizes environmental sustainability.

As environmental changes increasingly affect the materials, production processes, and lifespan of household items, there is a growing demand to reevaluate how these products are designed and manufactured. Through innovative advancements in household products–such as floor cleaner, detergent, dishwashing supplies–small adjustments can result in significant improvements in daily life. Now is the time to challenge yourself to develop household products that not only promote functional benefits, but also meet the evolving demand to create a greener, more sustainable earth.

As environmental change drives regulatory shifts and consumer demand for eco-friendly products, sustainable packaging becomes not only a response to these pressures but also a crucial element in reshaping industry practices for a more sustainable future. Sustainable packaging is essential in addressing issues of resource efficiency, pollution, and waste management. By integrating green engineering into packaging design, manufacturers can create materials that are biodegradable, compostable, or reusable, significantly reducing their ecological footprint. Furthermore, optimizing production processes and using energy-efficient technologies in packaging development contribute to accelerating sustainable processes. This is your chance to take the lead and develop effective sustainable packaging solutions!

Raising consciousness on creating a better environment are transforming the design of agricultural products as both consumers and regulators seek more environmentally responsible practices. The emphasis on reducing waste, minimizing carbon emissions, and conserving natural resources has prompted the development of innovative and eco-friendly products. As sustainability becomes a priority, design of products like fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, etc. is evolving to balance efficiency with ecological responsibility, shaping a greener future for the industry.
